Slovenia applies the common EASA rules but combines them with the national UAS Repository portal and additional geographical restrictions. In practice, before every flight you must check not only the open-category conditions but also the special rules for built-up areas, geo-zones and the required flight announcements.

Camera / registration noteOperator registration in the Slovenian UAS Repository is required for drones from 250 g, for drones with a camera or another sensor capable of collecting personal data, and for all operations in the specific category. The portal is also used for A1/A3 training and the exam for remote pilots. A non-EU operator uses a separate login path and may be registered in only one EU state.

Do not fly higher than 120 m above the ground, keep VLOS, and do not carry dangerous goods or drop anything.
In Slovenia, geographical zones must be checked on the official CAA map, and for flights in some areas a prior flight announcement ("Announcement of Flight") sent to uav@caa.si at least 12 hours before the operation is required.
In the open category, flights over built-up areas, buildings and ground infrastructure where people are present are generally prohibited. An exception is possible only if all conditions are met simultaneously: UAS up to 1200 g, flight up to 50 m AGL, only in daytime, prior consent of the owner or user of the property, and a prior flight announcement.
When it is absolutely necessary for the safe conduct of the operation, the drone may cross the boundary of the property covered by consent by at most 10 m and only for the shortest time needed.
Many operations in the open category require an A1/A3 certificate; the A2 subcategory requires additional A2 training and an exam, and the A2 exam fee is EUR 40.
The UAS Repository portal is used for operator registration and the A1/A3 exam. For EU citizens, access is via a qualified certificate / SI-PASS, and for non-EU operators via a separate login path.
If the flight does not meet the conditions of the open category, the operation moves to the specific category and requires an operational authorisation; the CAA even publishes a public list of specific-category permissions issued.
